An explosive top-order batter in limited-overs cricket, Finn Allen made his T20I debut against Bangladesh at Hamilton in March 2021. His first international outing was forgettable, as he was dismissed for a duck, but he quickly bounced back later in the series. In the third T20I at Auckland, Allen produced a breathtaking knock of 71 off just 29 balls, striking at an astonishing rate of 244.82 and smashing 10 boundaries along with three sixes.
Allen went on to register his maiden T20I century against Scotland in Edinburgh, an innings that showcased his immense hitting ability. His knock powered New Zealand to a massive total of 225, helping them secure a dominant 68-run victory. While inconsistency has marked his T20I career since, Allen has contributed useful innings in the ODI format, proving his value as a dynamic opener.
Known for his aggressive approach and ability to provide rapid starts, Allen possesses the firepower to dismantle bowling attacks on his day. Though consistency remains a work in progress, he is a player with significant upside and is likely to improve with experience.
