The ICC Women's Emerging Nations Trophy 2026 will feature five Full Member nations and five Associate Member teams, with the tournament scheduled to take place in Ajman, United Arab Emirates, from November 12 to 25.
Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will join the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand and the UAE in the second edition of the tournament, which has expanded to 10 teams from eight in its inaugural edition.
The participating teams have been divided into two groups of five. Ireland, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Sri Lanka and the UAE will compete in Group A, while Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Thailand and Zimbabwe have been placed in Group B.
The tournament will begin with the group stage, followed by a Super Six round, before the competition concludes with the final on November 25.
Gaurav Saxena, ICC General Manager – Events and Cricket Operations, highlighted the importance of the tournament in providing players with valuable international experience.
"Bringing together five Full Members and five Associate Members will create valuable opportunities for players to test themselves against a wider range of opposition and gain experience in a high-performance environment," Saxena said. He added that the ICC looked forward to welcoming the participating teams to Ajman for the second edition.
Thailand will enter the competition as defending champions after winning the inaugural edition on home soil in 2025. With an expanded field and the inclusion of five Full Member nations, the 2026 tournament is expected to provide an important platform for emerging women cricketers to gain experience and showcase their talent on the international stage.
